During the summer and fall of 1936 some ladies of the First Presbyterian Church of Ossian, concerned over the financial affairs of the church, decided that they could do something about it by forming a Ladies Aide to raise money to help out with some of the expenses. On October 28, 1936, the Ladies Aide was formed and their diligent efforts to help preserve the church are still in existence today.  One of the largest continuing fund-raisers is the Election Day Roast Beef Dinner.
