Ossian Fall Clean Up Day

September 20 — 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Who: This service is for Ossian residents and property OWNERS ONLY.
Where: Town Highway Garage — 4880 Ossian Hill Road, Dansville.

Safety requirements

• Drivers, passengers and especially children MUST stay in their vehicles at all times.
• Loads MUST be sorted. Separate plastic, metal, wood, trash, electronics, etc., to keep the line moving.
• All pneumatic tires MUST be removed from lawn mowers and similar equipment.
• Refrigerator & freezer doors MUST be removed.
• All trash MUST be non-organic, non-toxic, and dry. No garbage.
• All gas & oil MUST be removed from lawn mowers and other engines.

Items ACCEPTED

• Old furniture, plumbing fixtures, mattresses, household goods, stoves, washing machines, dryers, grills, etc.
• Items containing FREON (refrigerators/freezers/AC): a charge will be imposed.
• Electronics including computers (monitors & towers) and accessories (mice, keyboards, webcams, speakers, microphones, cables, storage devices).
• Printers, ink/toner cartridges, scanners, copiers, fax machines, answering machines, phone systems, projection equipment.
• Circuit boards and cards; rechargeable batteries (NiCd, NiMH, lithium-ion).
• Small home appliances (there may be a charge for FREON), GPS units, fitness trackers, smart watches.
• Cell phones, tablets, PDAs, cameras, MP3 players, gaming devices.
• Tires — accepted for a fee. $2.00 per tire — pay the day of clean up.

Items NOT accepted

• Liquids, toxic waste/hazardous materials, garbage, lawn clippings, brush & limbs, organic material.
• Light bulbs, smoke detectors, radioactive material.
• Alkaline, wet or dry-cell batteries (non-rechargeables).
• Items containing mercury or PCBs; broken or bare CRTs.
• CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, cassette tapes.
